Nelly Bellegarde is the founder of the “Crochet Club” Antwerp! It all started with her previous roommate, they would invite some friends to come over crochet with them in her apartment. Quite some people were joining and it was always a good time. They created an instagram as a joke, and a journalist from the Gazette spotted them! That’s how they got their first article in the newspaper. The instagram account gained in popularity, some new members started to join the club like this. The Club moved the weekly Wednesday meet up to café Belmondo for a year, created a Tiktok account, and many more people started to join! A real community was born and Tram 3 generously offered to host the club. Since then, the club has been happening every Wednesday at 8pm in Tram 3. In Kavka members of the club will showcase handcrafted crochet creations.
