Their breakthrough came with a silver medal at Maanrockrally 2018, leading to their debut album, Urges, released in 2020. Since then, L’itch has become a dynamic force in the Flemish music scene, known for their raw energy and fearless creativity. They recorded their debut in an abandoned hospital—a fitting backdrop for a band unafraid to push boundaries.
In 2022, Sander Rom began work on their follow-up album with the goal of raising the bar even higher. Promising a flood of new material, the first single, ‘Fa Zhou,’ is a thrilling noise-pop experience that immediately introduces their evolving sound. ‘Little Fool,’ their next release, is poised to be one of the year’s most danceable noise rock tracks, while ‘King Ludo’ sets its sights on securing a strong foothold in this year’s album discussions.
You can feel the energy with which Sander Blok (drums), Jeroen De Vos (bass), Kobe Walleghem (guitar), and Sander Rom (vocals, guitar) throw themselves into this new chapter. It’s as if they’re hurling themselves full force against a concrete wall, only to capture that experience in their new songs. It’s a whole new universe we’re talking about. One that feels like a 10,000-volt electrocution that does not knock you out, but leaves you with insanely memorable hooks you can’t get out of your head.
With A Numbers Game, L’itch proves they are adept at surgically capturing their impulsive quirks in songs that make your arm hairs stand on end. Their unmistakable sound also contains traces of post-punk, power-pop, noise-pop, and grime—a unique mix you simply have to experience live.
