Pre-release concert EP ‘Sexy Tragedy’
20-year-old Belgian singer-songwriter and dancer Silke Hamers, joined by her band, drummer/percussionist Lucas Messler, bassist, viola player and experimentalist Esther Coorevits and jazz guitarist Emile de Schepper, is premiering her soon releasing EP ‘Sexy Tragedy’ in Kavka Oudaan, created/produced in collaboration with the young upcoming producer Gust Decoster. The versatile band will be bringing a set of Silke’s freshly made songs, alongside some older reworked tracks, in which you can expect hints to Brazilian samba, funk, gospel, slam-poetry, groove en melancholic a capella songs, framed inside of a indie/jazz/soul theme.
“I see chaos as a beautiful mycelium, where millions of threats are connecting and reinventing themselves, so I create chaos on stage, and hope people can relate to it.”: Is Silke’s drive underneath her multidisciplinary artistry. She seamlessly blends contemporary dance, music, slam poetry and performance. Gathering inspirations from Omni Selassi, Amaria, Lou K and John Coltrane, Silke crafts personal stories that traverse indie, jazz, soul, and electronic genres. As a performer, currently studying as a contemporary dancer at P.A.R.T.S., Silke’s dynamic presence unites dancers and musicians on stage, building a vibrant, cohesive community through her powerful and immersive performances.
