Lia Metcalfe, the formidable frontwoman of The Mysterines, was inspired to pursue music after a memorable encounter with Nick Cave as a child. Raised in a musical household in Liverpool, she absorbed diverse influences ranging from Arctic Monkeys to Bob Dylan. Lia’s deep, impassioned vocals and penchant for raw, honest lyrics define her style. Forming The Mysterines, Lia sought a collaborative, band atmosphere reminiscent of Blondie and The Pretenders. Their debut album, ‘Reeling’, produced by Catherine Marks, showcases Lia’s talent for crafting emotionally charged songs with a touch of dark humor. Despite her young age, Lia has already collaborated with Paul Weller and contributed to his chart-topping album ‘Fat Pop’.
