The Scratch are a band that don’t seem to fit in anywhere, but have proven to fit in everywhere. Starting out with just acoustic guitars and a wooden box, the band created an immediate buzz in their hometown of Dublin, Ireland. Seemingly incapable of keeping themselves boxed into one singular genre, they meander intentionally around heavy metal, Irish folk music, stadium rock, and post-punk. Constantly evolving both creatively and sonically, never taking themselves as individuals too seriously while always putting their souls into the music, they have won the hearts of anyone that has experienced their live shows.
Formed in 2016, they quickly built a reputation for their raw energy and electrifying performances. Their 2018 EP Old Songs and 2020 debut album Couldn’t Give a Rats earned them a devoted following, with tracks like God Slap and Session Song becoming anthems. They’ve played major festivals like Electric Picnic and Hellfest, expanding their reach across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and North America. Originally a side project for metal musicians, The Scratch have grown into a genre-blending powerhouse.
